Art makes a great gift. because it is so personal, from the creation of the work itself to choosing a particular piece for a friend. Receiving something so unique will without a doubt make the recipient feel very special. And since art lasts a lifetime, you’ll always share that connection.”

Jana Boemer

Photography influenced her whole life. Her CV shows how photography surrounded her in various ways.

She worked in advertising agencies in Germany and  Switzerland for more than 5 years, where Jana was mostly responsible for editing photos. After she moved to Prague, she founded the first mail-order company for Photographic equipment in the Czech republic. Shortly thereafter, she obtained Leica representation. Through this she met more and more renowned photographers and fell in love with their work.

In 2002 she founded Leica Gallery Prague (LGP) in the Prague Castle, and turned it into a non profit Organization. The gallery became the most visited Czech cultural institution for years. Jana brought artists like Helmut Newton, Sebastiao Salgado, Anton Corbijn, Wim Wenders, Rene Burri, Raghu Rai and many others to Prague.

Under the Motto "Exhibitions travel to people” Jana introduced the a revolutionary idea to the world by bringing big exhibitions to the people. This project, which reconstructed the inside of a train into a gallery, and brought world-famous photographs to several countries and many cities, remains unforgettable and reached over 150 000 visitors.

As the LGP Director she also worked as an art curator for the foreign ministry in various private collections and became a jury member of awards such as the Leica Medal of Excellence, Frame, Nikon No1, Fuji Award, or World Press Photos – Joop Stewart Masterclass.

To fulfill her lifelong dream, she moved to Kauai with her family in 2010 and regained time to create her own photography once more.

On Kauai in Art Cafe Hemingway she organizes projects to infect the public with creativity like the current project Quo Imus, which will go on the journey through more countries next year.
